Meth addicts aren't going to like a new type of cold medicine.
Nexafed was created with drug making in mind.
Drug cooks use the pseudoephedrine from cold medicine to help make methamphetamine.
Acura Pharmaceuticals out of Illinois has come up with a way to make that cold-fighting drug unusable for meth making.
If addicts try to cook meth with Nexafed, they'll end up with worthless goo.
"They use it to cook meth, but I think they'll end up with a few surprises along the way, and what they come out with will be a lot different than what they expect," Acura Pharmaceuticals president Bob Jones said.
You'll be able to find Nexafed in pharmacies soon.
Its makers say it's just as effective as other cold medicines and costs the same as well.
