The Petrel's crew transported the people and boat to <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100101101011144" title="Oceanside (San Diego, California)" href="/topic/us/california/san-diego-county-%28california%29/oceanside-%28san-diego-california%29-PLGEO100101101011144.topic">Oceanside</a>, Calif., at approximately 9 p.m., where the Border Patrol Agents determined all 16 people to be part of a failed smuggling attempt. The subjects were taken to a Border Patrol facility for processing.
