When it opens in the Spring of 2011, the $19.5 million center on north Campbell will house Springfield and Greene County emergency dispatchers and emergency management workers. The facility will enable authorities to continue working if power is cut off, and even if the building is threatened by a tornado as powerful as the one that hit Joplin in May.
