Roanoke Commonwealth's Attorney won't pursue criminal charges over treatment of pit bull

The dog was being held at the Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection.

ROANOKE, Va.

Roanoke Commonwealth’s Attorney Don Caldwell will not pursue criminal charges relating to the treatment of a pit bull held at the Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection.

Caldwell had the Roanoke Police Department investigate the allegations.

According to a news release, Caldwell reviewed the charges and said “I am of the opinion that criminal charge(s) are not appropriate.”
