HOLTVILLE - Imperial County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a burglary on Holt Avenue in Holtville early Sunday morning, according to Imperial County sheriff’s logs. Items reportedly stolen include an Xbox and a television. Two males reportedly wearing gray sweaters and seen carrying a TV southward in an alley between Eighth and Seventh streets, Pine and Holt avenues, are suspects in the incident.

Possible trespassing reported

WINTERHAVEN - A Winterhaven resident alleged that campers were possibly trespassing around 8:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Imperial County Sheriff’s Office logs, but ownership and property lines were inconclusive.

Residents concerned over juveniles, air guns

SEELEY - Imperial County sheriff’s deputies responded to a caller from Seeley who was concerned that two juveniles playing with air guns might hurt each other or other children, according to sheriff’s logs. The juveniles are about 14 years old, and had put away the airsoft guns prior to deputies’ arrival.

Name released of woman who died in accident

BRAWLEY  - The name of the woman who died in a car accident on Highway 111 south of Brawley has been released.

Brytni Buckley, 24, of Imperial died after the pickup she was driving hit a semi truck south of Wildcat Drive, said Imperial County Deputy Coroner Rodolfo Barron. She was driving northbound in southbound lanes.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday. The incident is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

 

Skeletal remains found in Ocotillo Wells

IMPERIAL COUNTY - Skeletal remains were found on Saturday afternoon near the Imperial-San Diego county line.

Bones were found in the Ocotillo Wells area by some San Diego County residents, said Imperial County Deputy Coroner Rodolfo Barron. Deputies are conducting a search of the area to see if they can find more before they are sent to a forensic anthropologist in San Diego.



Deputy injured responding the assistance call

IMPERIAL  - A deputy responding to the incident at Kashmir Night Club in Imperial early Sunday morning was involved in a car accident on Highway 86.

The deputy suffered some minor injuries while responding to the assist other agency call, but is expected to return to work this week, said Lt. Scott Sheppeard with the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office. California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation of the incident.

No further information about the investigation was available on Monday.
