SAN DIEGO - Two motorcycles crashed into a sofa laying in freeway lanes Sunday, killing one rider and sending two others to a hospital, officers said.
The crash happened on the westbound State Route 94 near the 30th Street exit at 5:22 p.m.
Two people were riding on one of the motorcycles, while the other victim was driving the other motorcycle, California Highway Patrol said. The victims were transported to Mercy Hospital, according to a San Diego Fire Department dispatcher.
The names of the victims were not released.
It was unknown how the sofa was left on the roadway.
