Another summer-like day is on the way Tuesday under a mostly sunny sky as afternoon highs soar into the mid-80s once again along with gusty southerly winds for eastern Kansas.
After our toasty Tuesday look for a different weather world across our region Wednesday as a strong storm system passes north of Kansas dragging a cold front through our area. The front will bring a few passing sprinkles or rain showers over the east, gusty northerly winds and colder temperatures.
Afternoon highs Wednesday will tumble into the 60s to around 70 then free-fall to even cooler 50s and 60s Thursday and Friday.
Gusty winds and low humidity will mean an increased fire danger and a Fire Weather Watch and Wind Advisories have been issued for most of central and western Kansas Wedneday.
Look for a slow warming trend to begin Friday and last through the weekend as highs climb back into upper 70s by Sunday.
