ROANOKE, Va. -

Many people with basements are making sure they are ready for the rain. They are calling on basement sealers. Seal-Tite Basement is based in Roanoke.

Experts there say say the waiting list is over two months long to water proof basements. Michael Hoke says this season is especially busy for him, but says it doesn't have to be.

“A lot of common problems is downspouts not draining away from the houses properly, clogged drains, grade coming towards the house. It's just a lot of stuff that can be done before we get out here and before we need to be out here,” Hoke said.

Experts say make sure water can flow properly and flow away from your home to best avoid basement flooding.
