Next Wednesday the Rocky Mount water plant will completely stop production for at least 24 hours for a major electrical upgrade.
The $300,000 upgrade will update electrical components, motors and wiring in the more than 30 year old plant. It's the first major improvement since the plant opened in the 80's.
“By upgrading our electric we do anticipate we will see a significant savings on our electric bill every month. We'll recoup some monetary saving but we’ll also have equipment that is not as hard to start up.
The stopping of production will not interrupt service for Franklin County customers.
