BOTETOURT CO., Va. -

A former Buchanan firefighter could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Steven Prease was arrested last June after investigators say he shot at deputies during a standoff in Botetourt County.

Wednesday, he entered an Alford Plea on several charges including two-counts of attempted capital murder.

With that plea, Prease doesn't admit his guilt, but that Commonwealth has enough evidence to convict him.

While no one was seriously hurt during the incident, Prease faces 2-life terms and four-years when he's sentenced in October.
