April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Southern Virginia Child Advocacy Center in Rocky Mount wants to raise awareness on the issue.
They say they have seen an increase in need for their services. And now they want to reach out the community to educate.
“Child abuse and neglect is preventable, it truly is. So giving individuals the tools to help sway the philosophy behind child abuse and neglect and the region can make a difference,” said Executive Officer Joyce Moran.
Pinwheels out of the center represented the 29 children in Virginia who died by the hands of child abuse and /or neglect.
