The Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place Saturday in Blacksburg and in Roanoke.
Registration for the Blacksburg event begins at 2:00 p.m. at Henderson Lawn. The opening ceremony will take place at 3:00 p.m.
Registration for the Roanoke event begins at 8:00 a.m. and the opening ceremony will take place at 9:00 a.m. at Elmwood Park, at the corner of Jefferson and Elm in downtown Roanoke.
The event aims to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease. According to a news release, over 300 people from the Blacksburg area are expected at this year’s event.
Participants will take part in a 2 mile walk and will learn more about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical trial enrollment, and support programs and services of the Alzheimer’s Association. Each walker will also join in a tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
