AMHERST CO., Va. -

Amherst County deputies had to use a Taser to arrest a teenage robbery suspect on Wednesday night.

The incident started around 8 p.m. Wednesday when another teenager was attacked and robbed.

One of the suspects was arrested without incident. The other suspect was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after attacking two officers, according to the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies used a Taser to detain the suspect.

One of the suspect's mothers was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She is not being identified so investigators can protect the suspects’ identities. The mother was released on bond from the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

The teenagers are being held in the Lynchburg Juvenile Detention Home on robbery charges. One of the suspects is charged with resisting arrest and two counts of assaulting law enforcement officers, which are felonies.
