ROANOKE, Va. -

It's the season of giving and one person is giving big in Roanoke.

Someone decided to take some of the financial burden off of customers at the Burlington Coat Factory store along Hershberger Road in Roanoke.

The person, who asked to remain anonymous, walked into the store and paid for all of the items that have been on layaway for months.

Pandora Austin got a phone call from the store on Christmas Eve telling her to pick up her layaway because it had been paid in full.

“I thought it was a joke,” said Austin. “But it wasn’t.”

Austin walked out of the store with her items fully paid by someone looking to spread holiday cheer.

"I was shocked and when I saw that it was actually true I started to cry and my nose was red like Rudolph and I was happy,” she said. “I thank God because it was a blessing not only to me but to a lot of other people that wouldn't have had a good Christmas if this person hadn't did what they did."

Burlington Coat Factory told Austin that the mystery person paid for all the items that were in layaway at the Hershberger location.
