ROANOKE, Va. -

People who live on Meadowbrook Road in Roanoke County are keeping an extra close on eye on the forecast.

Last July's flooding is still fresh on their minds.

They say they're trying to be ready this time around.  We're told a few neighbors have moved out because of the last year's flooding.

Some have stayed and they are taking a pro-active approach just in case.

"I moved all of our stuff, pretty much, out of the basement, all my mechanic tools, home repair tools and moved all them out of the basement, took them over to my mom's house. Pretty much got all the kids stuff up out of the way in case something does happen," said Zane Reed.

Reed actually moved into the neighborhood after all the flooding last year, but that didn't stop him.

We're told some neighbors are still fighting with the city and insurance companies to get help.
