ROCKBRIDGE CO., Va. -

An Arkansas resident is dead after crashing his car Monday morning in Rockbridge County.

Investigators say Darren J. Harman, age 46, of Fort Smith, Arkansas was traveling on Interstate 81 South in a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 truck. He was at mile marker 177 when the crash occurred.

Police say Harman ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and flipped several times. Harman was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Virginia State Police are still investigating the incident.

The Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal crash that killed an Arkansas resident this morning around 6:20 am on Interstate 81 southbound at the 177 mile post in Rockbridge County. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 pick up that was being operated by Darrin J. Harman, age 46 of Fort Smith, Arkansas ran off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected then ran off the right side of the roadway striking a guardrail before it flipped over several times and ejecting the driver.
