The case of a Bedford County man, accused of killing a cyclist, is headed to a grand jury.
A judge has certified felony hit-and-run charges against Michael Jenkins. He's accused of hitting Sean McQuaid on Route 122 in Moneta back in March.
According to a search warrant affidavit, witnesses saw Jenkins get out of his truck and move McQuaid's bike before speeding off.
McQuaid died at a Roanoke hospital.
Hours later, Jenkins called 911 to say that his truck was on fire. When firefighters arrived to put out the flames, deputies say Jenkins tried to attack them.
He's facing felony assault for that incident.
A grand jury will consider both charges in August.
