Bedford Police arrest man on burglary charges

Tonight, a man's in jail for breaking into two homes six months ago and stealing dozens of items.

Bedford Police were called to a home in the 900 block of Ashland Avenue.  The homeowners were away, and when they came home, they noticed that someone had broken into their home through their basement door.

Police identified their suspect on June 12th and arrested Adam Oldfield of Bedford.  Through the course of the investigation, officers discovered he was behind another January burglary - this one along the 700 block of Pine Street.

Oldfield has been charged with several crimes, including grand larceny and breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony.  He's being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

Bedford Police say more arrests could be made in connection with the burglaries.
