A Bedford County manufacturer is giving excess equipment to a nearby school.
Georgia Pacific is donating $4,000 dollars worth of Dell computers to Big Island Elementary.
The desktop PC's were recently acquired when Georgia Pacific took over another company.
The computers are relatively new and in great condition, but they aren't compatible with the paper mill's existing network.
School administrators plan to put the gift to good use.
"We're really excited because these will replace some of the outdated computers that had to recently be removed from our facility," said Wayne Lyle, principal of Big Island Elementary. "These will go back into classrooms that both teachers and students can use."
Georgia Pacific's Big Island paper mill is one of the largest employers in Bedford County.
