Bike Virginia has another successful year

Average age of the riders was 55; oldest rider was 88-years-old

BOTETOURT CO., Va. -

Organizers of one of the region's longest running events on two-wheels is calling this year a success.

For the last 26-years, the Bike Virginia event has hosted cyclists from all over the country.

This year's event at the end of June was no different.

According to Bike Virginia - just over 13-hundred riders from 39-states and Canada made their way through Rockbridge and Botetourt Counties.

Organizers surveyed the cyclists.

On average, each rider spent about 750-dollars.

That means, more than 980-thousand dollars were pumped into the region.
