They're used to helping the smallest members of the community and families in need.
And, this holiday season, employees of the Botetourt County Department of Social Services are using their free time to make sure the kids of those families are able to have a Christmas.
Angels representing about 350-children are on trees in stores and banks throughout the county.
"Salvation Army does not support Botetourt County, if these children are going to have Christmas, it's going to come from us," explains Botetourt County Social Services Director Bill Burleson.
Every child from a Botetourt County family receiving food stamps is able to participate.
The director says usually at this point, the department has 8-thousand dollars in donations, but this year, the number is hovering around 2-thousand.
