ROANOKE CO., Va. -

WDBJ7 has learned of new details about a shooting Tuesday night on Starkey Road in Roanoke County.

Robert Fisher is accused of shooting a man and a woman last night.

We have learned that Fisher’s girlfriend is the daughter of the woman who was shot. The victim’s boyfriend was also shot. Police say their injuries are not life threatening.

Fisher is charged with two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Update 2:20 a.m.: An arrest has been made following a shooting that wounded two people on Starkey Road last night, shortly after 6 p.m.

Roanoke County Police tell Your Hometown News Leader that 21-year-old, Robert Fisher was arrested and charged with two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fisher is being held in the Roanoke County-Salem Jail without bond.

A man and woman are in the hospital after a shooting in Roanoke County Tuesday evening, and investigators tell us that they believe the person who shot them is armed.

Both victims, a man and a woman, have non-life threatening injuries and have been able to communicate with investigators.

According to police, the suspect entered the home in the  4800 block of Starkey Road, not far from Hunting Hills Drive and Electric Road, around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and shot the man and woman inside.

WDBJ7 spoke to the mother of the man who was shot moments after it all happened. She says her son was shot in the leg and hand. She also says the other victim was her son's girlfriend.

The victim's mother tells us the girlfriend's injuries were worse than her son's injuries.

According to the mother, her son's girlfriend claims that the person who shot them is her own daughter's boyfriend.

Police have not confirmed these details at this time, but an officer at the scene told WDBJ7's Nadine Maeser that investigators are currently interviewing witnesses and have a good feeling they know who the suspect is, and where he is.

Investigators say the shooter left the scene in a car, but they have not released a description of the vehicle.

Detectives are still processing the scene.

WDBJ7 was the first to have a reporter on the scene of the shooting that took place in the 4800 block of Starkey Road around 6:00 p.m.

Roanoke County Police are looking for the man they believe was responsible for the shooting. He left in a vehicle and is thought to be armed with a hand gun.

The male victim is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. We do not know the extent of the female victim's injuries at this time.

A witness on the scene told WDBJ7's David Kaplan that she is the mother of the man who was shot. She says her son was shot in the leg and hands, and that the woman who was shot was her son's girlfriend.

According to the witness, her son's girlfriend knows the person who shot them. Police have not confirmed these details at this time.
