BATH CO., Va. -

Residents of The Springs Nursing Center in Bath County were evacuated and are being transferred to Bath County High School for temporary shelter after a water line burst at the nursing home Wednesday afternoon.

Officials with Bath County Sheriff’s office say about 60 residents were taken to the high school, including some who had to be transported by ambulance due to physical limitations.

Evacuation and transportation efforts began around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. We’re told that the building has extensive water damage throughout.

Residents will be transported to another facility, still undetermined at this time, after evacuations to Bath County High School and organization efforts are complete.
