The Campbell County man accused of killing his grandparents last year was sentenced Friday to two life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Robert Philbrook could have received the death penalty.
Philbrook robbed and killed John and Virginia Philbrook in February 2013, according to prosecutors. Investigators say he stole his grandmother’s prescription pain medication and pawned her jewelry.
The bodies were found Feb. 15, 2013. Three days earlier, Robert Philbrook pawned his grandmother’s jewelry, which was valued between $10,000 and $12,000.
Robert Philbrook lived with his grandparents.
