Show stopping performances and cinematic sounds kept the crowd glued to their seats at The Salem Stadium for The Summer Music Games of Southwest Virginia.
Eight bands from all over country gave it their all. Some spectators traveled from other states to see the show.
"Every summer I try to make a couple of trips around to local show if they're pretty close by," said spectator Gary Willis. "Been to Charlotte this year so far, and I come up here to Salem. Salem is a pretty regular show for me."
Willis and his 9-year-old son Gregory made the drive from Winston Salem. Some Pulaski County High School band members also made the drive to see the bands perform.
"I think it's really cool, it's teaching us new things," said spectator Darius Patterson.
He's hoping to learn some techniques he saw at the show.
"We went to band camp for a week and I thought I was going to die. So I can’t imagine what they are going through, try to perfect this show," said spectator Desirae Clark.
Though people attended for different reason, they can agree it was one spectacular show.
Carolina Crown won first place.
