ROANOKE CO., Va. -

It might be cold outside, but people worked up a sweat Saturday at the Carter Athletic Center.

It was all a part of the center's annual Winter Health fair.

For the last 3-years, the facility at North Cross school in Roanoke County has hosted the event.

There were workout demonstrations, vendors and a lot of information to get people's new year's resolutions off on the right foot.

"We like to call ourselves Southwest County's best kept secret - a lot of people don't know that we're here. So, I'm hoping that people come and they can either do day passes here when they come in or they can join as members," says Melanie Slaughter, Carter Athletic Center.

Even though the Carter Athletic Center serves North Cross and the school community, it's also open to the public.

Organizers says they're already planning next year's health fair.
