CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. -

A child in the care of the Radford Adventure Club was left unattended in an unlocked van Monday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

The child was not hurt, according to Donna Thornton-Robert, the owner of the Radford Adventure Club.

Thornton-Robert said the incident was reported to authorities and is still under investigation.

The fourth-grade student fell asleep in the van, according to a news release.

“Adventure Club is working closely with authorities to determine what occurred and will be working cooperatively during this ongoing investigation,” said Thornton-Roberts in the release.

Temperatures Monday in Christiansburg reached the mid 80s.

On July 14, 2014 the owner of the Radford Adventure Club reported to authorities of an alleged incident of a sleeping 4th grader being left unattended in an unlocked van at the Aquatic Center.

Adventure Club is working closely with authorities to determine what occurred and will be working cooperatively during this ongoing investigation.
