ROANOKE,Va. -

The last time temperatures reached into the teens, a pipe burst at Friendship Retirement Community. Low temperatures caused that pipe to burst on the third floor.

Water ended up flowing down to the second and first floors. Staff members fixed the issue and are taking extra precaution.

Ken Mowbray is the Director of Campus Admissions at the retirement center. He says that maintenance crew also replaced the installation where the pipe burst.

The retirement community says they will keep a close eye on the building as the temperature drops.
