As the cleanup and relief efforts continue in The Philippines, one organization here is doing its part to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Gleaning For The World just announced that it's extending the deadline for collections.

So far, Central Virginia has donated over 20-thousand pounds of life saving supplies.

Rice, hand sanitizer, over the counter medicine, personal hygiene items, baby products and non perishable canned food are all needed.

The extended collection for these items runs November 18-th to the 20-th from 10-to-6  at the Kroger on Route 221 in Forest and the Sam's Club on Wards Road in Lynchburg.

People near Charlottesville interested in donating can drop off supplies at Advancing Native Missions at 10460 Critzers Shop Road in Afton.
