ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. -

A small private school in Roanoke County is making some big changes to its campus.

The Community School in Hollins celebrated the grand opening of the school's newest addition.

The new multi-purpose room will provide more space for students to learn and do projects. It features a science, technology, engineering and math lab and a music lab.

Employees said they're excited to use the new building for projects and events.

"I think having more space will allow us to do what we normally do better because we have grand ideas and sometimes we just don't have the space to do them," said executive director Linda Roth.

The Community School was founded in 1971.

More than 100 students are currently enrolled at the school.
