LYNCHBURG, Va. -

A company has been selected to build Lynchburg's newest high school.

Lynchburg's school board has voted to go with the Barton Malow Company to construct Heritage High School.  They submitted the lowest bid for the project: $63.4-million.

That cost is substantially lower than original estimates of around $90-million to build the school.  After property is acquired and furniture is purchased, the final cost of the project may still reach $77-million.

A groundbreaking for the new school is set for April.
