The cause of the house fire in the 2200 block of Melrose Avenue Monday night has been ruled as electrical/accidental, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.



Firefighters have left the scene after putting out the fire. All of the roads they closed are back open.



A fireman on the scene tells WDBJ7 that the home was vacant.

The family that lived there just moved out over the weekend.

There is no word on what caused the fire. 


Fire crews are working to put a fire out at a house in Roanoke.

It's happening on Melrose Avenue near 22nd street.

Our photojournalist says no one was in the home at the time.

24th street has been closed so that crews can work on the fire.
