ROANOKE, Va. -

Residents in the Roanoke area will be able to buy a fresh donuts once again.

According to the city’s director of planning, building, and development, Krispy Kreme has received all the necessary permits to proceed with building a new store.

Krispy Kreme was forced to find a new location after an electrical fire totaled the original location along Melrose Avenue.

Just this week, crews tore down a building along Hershberger Road that used to be home to an appliance store.

The city of Roanoke is responsible for making sure the finished product is up to building and development codes.

WDBJ7 reached out to Krispy Kreme to find out when the store will open, but our calls have not been returned.
