UPDATE: Missing hiker found in Giles County

GILES CO., Va. -

A hiker who went missing in Giles County has been found.

The woman had been missing since 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was found Wednesday afternoon off Groundhog Trail.

She did not need medical assistance, according to the Giles County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators had been searching the Stoney Creek area.


Crews are searching the Jefferson National Forest in Giles County for a missing hiker.

The sheriff's office says a woman has been missing since 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Teams are searching in the Stoney Creek area.

The Appalachian Trail crosses Stoney Creek. And this is all part of the national forest.
