Dabney S. Lancaster Community College in Clifton Forge was briefly placed on lockdown Monday.

The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office received information about a man on campus who was threatening a staff member. The school was put on lockdown at 11:46 a.m., and the lockdown was lifted at 12:03 p.m.

The incident arose from a prior described domestic situation.

The man was taken into custody for an outstanding emergency custody order. The suspect was taken in for an evaluation. No weapons were found.

Dabney S. Lancaster Community College has returned to normal operations.
