DANVILLE, Va. -

Two Danville firefighters were hurt battling a fire Friday.  One is being evaluated at a hospital as a precaution.  The other has already been released.

The two were helping fight a fire at a garage on Lynch Street, according to a statement from Battalion Chief B. K. Shields.  Shields said the injuries to both firefighters appeared to be minor.  He did not release their names.

Fire crews were at the scene on Lynch Street for nearly two hours.  The building is a total loss, according to the fire department.  The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause.
