DANVILLE, Va. -

Danville police arrested a man after his truck ran into a house.

Danville Police are investigating a traffic accident that occurred last night on Parkway Drive.

On October 24, 2013 at approximately 9:50 PM Police, Fire, and Rescue personnel responded to the 100 block of Parkway Drive for a report of a vehicle crash. Upon arrival they found a 1987 Dodge Ram pickup truck had hit a house. The investigation revealed that the Dodge was traveling north on Parkway Drive, lost control, and struck the house. There was only one person inside of house and the occupant did not suffer any injuries. The building was checked and the preliminary results were that it was structurally sound.

The house sustained approximately $25,000.00 in damages. The Dodge sustained approximately $1,000.00 in damages. The driver of the Dodge was transported to the Danville Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries related from the crash. The driver was treated and released.

Warrants were obtained for the driver of the Dodge, Zachary T. Norton, age 26 of Pittsylvania County, Virginia for Felony Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Felony Hit and Run, Driving while intoxicated, Driving on a Suspended Operator’s License and Hit and Run.

Zachary is being held under a $25,000.00 secured bond in the Danville City Jail.

I called Danville Police, but they didn't have much information for us.

The dispatcher says he doesn't have any records of the driver getting arrested.
