A Danville teenager is accused of trying to rob a convenience store Monday.

18-year-old Chance Davis has been charged with robbery and using a firearm in commission of a felony.

An officer pulled into the Joy Food Store parking lot on Riverside Drive around 6 p.m. Monday and saw a man inside wearing a mask. The suspect saw the officer and ran away. The suspect appeared to be carrying a handgun.

The officer chased the suspect down and caught him in the Henry Street area. The investigation revealed that Davis was in the process of robbing the store when the officer pulled into the parking lot. Davis is being held in the Danville City Jail without bond.
