ALLEGHANY CO., Va. -

A second suspect in the murder of an Alleghany County man was arrested Monday. 

Sheriff Kevin Hall says Casey Gillespie is charged with second degree murder.  Gillespie is 21 years old and from Covington.  Dustin Thomas McLear was arrested Saturday.

Joe Rumfelt was found dead inside his home in Selma area home on December 3.

Sheriff Hall with the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office has confirmed to WDBJ7 that an arrest has been made in Joe Rumfelt's death.

Dustin Thomas McLear of Covington was arrested early Saturday morning.  The 21-year-old is charged with second-degree murder.

The Sheriff says the case is still under investigation and that more charges and arrests could come.

A man found dead in Alleghany County on Tuesday night was murdered, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office says 71-year-old Joe Ray Rumfelt died from a gunshot wound. Rumfelt was found dead in his Donovan Street home by a neighbor. Rumfelt's sons called the neighbor to check on him after they couldn't get in touch with him.

The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office is holding a neighborhood meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday night at the Selma Church of the Brethren.

Donovan Street is just outside of the Clifton Forge town limits, in the Selma area.

The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man found dead Tuesday night under suspicious circumstances.

Sheriff Kevin Hall says 71-year-old Joe Ray Rumfelt was found dead in his Donovan Street home by a neighbor. Donovan Street is just outside of the Clifton Forge town limits, in the Selma area.

Hall says Rumfelt’s sons, who live in the area, had been trying to contact him. When they were unsuccessful, they asked a neighbor to check on him.

Investigators have not said how Rumfelt died.

“Some things just look suspicious,” Hall said.

Rumfelt’s body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office.

Investigators are still on the scene of a suspicious death in Alleghany County.

Sheriff Kevin Hall confirmed a body of an older man in his 70s was found in a home on Donovan Street.

That's in the Selma section of the county, just outside Clifton Forge.
