ROANOKE,Va. -

Today is National Gay Men's H-I-V and AIDS Awareness Day. Health professionals say the day is to raise awareness and to reach gay and bi-sexual men to encourage testing.

“To not know your status is taking the risk of you becoming very ill and of you infecting others.
Knowing your status is a power trip. It's power and knowledge is always power,” said Drop -In Center Director Pam Meador.

The Drop-In Center in Roanoke provides free testing and information on H-I-V.
