LOVINGSTON, Va. -

The family of Morgan Harrington will join Alexis Murphy’s family at an event Friday to raise awareness to both girls’ disappearance.

Both families will be joined by Monica Caison, Director of the CUE Center for Missing Persons, for the event at the Lovingston Café at 2 p.m. Friday.

Alexis Murphy, who is from Nelson County, was last seen August 3. Randy Taylor has been charged in connection to her disappearance. Morgan Harrington, who was from Roanoke County and attended Virginia Tech, was last seen alive at a 2009 Metallica concert in Charlottesville. Her body was found on an Albemarle County farm a few months later.

The CUE Center for Missing Persons raises awareness to missing children and adults. The stop in Lovingston is part of an eight-state tour that runs from Oct. 3-12.

“After so many years, these cases fade from the public’s radar, but for the families and friends of a missing person, the nightmare continues — every minute of every day their loved one is absent,” CUE Founder, Monica Caison, wrote in a news release. “The tour travels across the country to make sure that no case fades from memory. The annual campaign serves as a reminder by featuring cases that are in need of a resolution, “they need our help and the community’s help to bring them home.”
