VINTON, Va. -

Fire damaged the New York Pizza restaurant in Vinton.

Firefighters were called to the restaurant on Hardy Road Friday just after 10 a.m.

The first firefighter on the scene reported seeing heavy smoke coming from the building.

Investigators say fire was in the rear storage area. It caused between $10,000 to $15,000 worth of damage.

No injuries were reported.

An employee tells WDBJ7 that some towels caught on fire and that the restaurant will be open for business Friday evening.
