LYNCHBURG, Va. -

Two Lynchburg families will have to find a new place to live in 2014.

Their apartment house was destroyed by fire Tuesday morning.

Investigators say flames broke out around midnight on Yeardley Avenue, near Memorial Avenue.

Seven people, including three children, were home at the time.  Everyone made it out safely, but the house is destroyed.

One family is staying with a friend.  The other is getting a hotel room, with help from the Red Cross.

An electrical malfunction sparked the fire.
