A Forest teenager died in an accident Monday night on Route 221 in Bedford County.

The accident happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Route 221, one-tenth of a mile west of Route 609 in Bedford County.

Bronwyn Mae Farris was killed in the wreck. She was 15. Investigators say Farris, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt.

The 17-year-old driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation by Virginia State Police revealed that a 1992 Honda Accord headed north on Route 221 went off the right side of the road and into a ditch line. The car hit a sign before rolling over several times.

Farris was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville where she died a short time later.

According to a family friend, both teens involved in the accident were students at Jefferson Forest High School.
