ROANOKE CO., Va. -

He might be best known for his time in the NFL, but one Roanoke native is giving back to his hometown and remembering where he came from..

That's part of the inspiration behind The Shannon Taylor Next Level Football Camp at North Cross in Roanoke County.

Taylor was a football standout at Patrick Henry High School and University of Virginia before spending 5-years in the NFL.

This camp focuses on skills, drills and techniques for kids 8 to 14-years old.

Taylor hopes he inspire these young athletes.

"I feel like if they can see it, they can achieve it and it's something that's obtainable. When you see someone from your hometown of Northwest Roanoke and they grow up the way you grow up, obviously they can take something from that," explains Taylor.

The two-day camp wrapped up Sunday.

This is the 5th year after a few year hiatus.
