Franklin County firefighters will be better equipped to save the lives of pets after Thursday.

Invisible Fence Brand of Virginia is presenting Franklin County Public Safety and the county's animal shelter with 15 pet oxygen masks.

The presentation is set for 1:30 p.m at the training center at the Public Safety building.

It's estimated that between 40,000 and 150,000 pets die in fires every year.

The oxygen masks will save the lives of pets who've breathed-in too much smoke.
