Saturday's yard sale for Ava Wolfe raised more than $6,000!
Neighbors in Bedford are getting together this weekend to raise money for a little girl battling cancer.
Ava Wolfe was diagnosed with Leukemia in November. Wolfe, who is only four years old, is receiving chemo therapy and other treatments at a Roanoke hospital.
Meanwhile, friends in Bedford have started an effort called "Ava Pearl's Army." They're hosting an indoor yard sale to raise money for the Wolfe family.
"If you see something you want, give us a donation," said Kelly Mayhew, a Bedford resident who is organizing the yard sale. "Everybody loves a yard sale. What better way to get rid of unwanted items and raise money for a good cause."
The sale is Saturday at Main Street United Methodist Church in Bedford and runs from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Donations of clothing, furniture, and household goods are needed. Items can be dropped off at the church until 7:30 p.m. Friday.
