ROANOKE, Va. -

Girls don't need musical experience to feel like rock stars.

But they'll definitely come away from Girls Rock!  Roanoke with musical training and a feeling of empowerment.

This is the second year of the camp, but there are now camps for two age groups.

For campers aged 8 to 11, camp will be July 7 through 11. And for girls who are aged 12 to 16, camp will be July 14 to 18.

The camp will also have a new home, the Community School in Roanoke.

Just like they did last year, girls will learn how to play musical instruments, and put together their own public concert at the end of the week.

But more importantly, Girls Rock! is about empowering girls and developing their self-confidence and self-esteem.

The camp costs $250, but scholaships are available. It needs donations for those scholarships, and could also use some donated instruments.

If you'd like to sign up your daughter for the camp, or make a donation, you can do it on this link.
