LYNCHBURG, Va. -

Caring people from across our region are sending help to flood victims in Colorado.

Gleaning for the World is wrapping up a three day supply drive at the Lynchburg Sam's Club.

Since Tuesday volunteers with the non-profit have collected more than two large trucks full of donations.

One load is already on its way out west. Another will leave by the end of the week.

The aid will go to people in and around Boulder, Colorado, where heavy rains have destroyed more than 19,000 homes.

"Right now people are just devastated by what has happened," said Danielle Sarchet, volunteer coordinator for Gleaning for the World.  "We want to be able to lift up their spirits, and give them things that they need and can use right away."
