It was a celebration of regional heritage today in Franklin County.

Ferrum College was the setting for the 40-th annual Blue Ridge Folklife Festival.

The annual event commemorates the rich traditions, music, art and culture of the Blue Ridge.

From contests, artisans, children's events, and music, the festival offered something for everyone to enjoy.

There was even a full array of savory Southern food to tempt visitors.

Organizers say the event offers a unique perspective on rural life.

The Blue Ridge Institute and Museum at Ferrum coordinateds the annual festival.
